John Lewis, a British department store may have released the most heartwarming Christmas commercial for 2015. If you haven't seen it yet, it has already reached about 20 million views on YouTube (and it's not even December!)

The spot is about a little girl who looks through her telescope and sees the man on the moon. Even though the man thinks he is alone, the little girl tries everything to show him he is not.

There is something truly beautiful about showing someone that they are loved.

This commercial has the creative art direction and emotional storyline that are hard to top (not that it's a competition). It will be difficult for any advert to beat this one for me this holiday season-- but I will keep looking.

If you loved this spot this isnt the first beautifully touching ad John Lewis put out.

Take a look at the Christmas spots from the last couple years:

A couple days ago Aldi released a clever spoof of the John Lewis commerical:

In the budget supermarket's version there is also an old man stuck on the moon, sitting on a bench. He is trying to decide between two telescopes. "I like this one," he says about the telescope with the John Lewis price of £109.95.

"And I like this one," he says of the Aldi priced telescope at £69.99.

"But I'm over the moon with this one," he says as Jean Jones flies in on an armchair carried by balloons. Jean Jones is the granny previously starring in ads for Aldi.

The ad definitely plays off of the success of John Lewis' ad spot.

What do you think? Is this a clever spoof by a competitor?

Cheers!
& Happy Holidays
Laura
