The First 'Star Wars: The Force Awakens' TV Spot

With the much anticipated Star Wars: The Force Awakens film expected to debut in a little over a month, the first 30- second television commercial has finally just appeared, via Twitter. Let's just say you have to see it for yourself.

New heroes are the focal point of Episode VII, specifically Daisy Ridley's Rey. An older Han Solo and BB-8 droid also make appearances. Where is Luke Skywalker? The tv spot does not give away much, leaving fans with questions that perhaps will remain unanswered until December 18th, the date that The Force Awakens debuts.

"I have lived long enough to see the same eyes in different people. I see your eyes. I know your eyes," says an intriguing voiceover in the commercial.

People speculate that the mysterious voice could be that of actress Lupita Nyong'o's Maz Kanata, a CGI-based character who is a pirate, according to Rolling Stone.

Eyes have always been viewed as the gateways to the soul. They are the windows into your true intentions. In the case of Star Wars-- are you good or susceptible to the dark side?

A lot of hype has been building on Twitter as we get closer to the release date. Follow Star Wars (along with 1.7m others) to see for yourself!
This new commercial closely follows the first official trailer which appeared last month:

While the movie premieres on December 18th, for someone like me who hasn't preordered tickets, it might be next to impossible to see it on its opening day. (It broke all preorder records!) That aside, well-deserved excitement is building for the release of this movie. I don't care what day I see it-- but I am definitely seeing it!

Cheers!
Laura
